  Pamela Williams was born in Albertinia in the Southern Cape, South Africa and educated mainly in Cape Town. She has taught there, in London and also in Bloemfontein, where she ran an art school for children.

 

  For many years she was a volunteer with a worldwide emotional support service and, as head of the organisation in South Africa, and was responsible for setting up new counselling centres in various parts of the country, a number of them in townships. She also co-ordinated the services offered by all the branches in Africa.

 

  As a member of the International Executive Council she travelled extensively, presenting training sessions and workshops in many countries, including Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Australia and the UK.

 

  She now lives in Hermanus, Western Cape where she is an active member of the Southern Writers’ Circle.
